The partnership was signed between Mohamed El Hajjouji, Managing Director of the Orbis group and Mohammed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AAAID.
Orbis Holding is entering a new phase of development in the agro-industrial market. Its subsidiary Orbis AgroIndustry has just signed a strategic partnership with the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID). This memorandum of understanding aims to jointly deploy agro-industrial development projects with high added value in Morocco, particularly in the red fruit and extra-virgin olive oil sectors. This partnership initially covers four major projects.
The first relates to the production of red fruits (goji berries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries), avocados and citrus fruits in the Gharb region. The second consists of the establishment of a storage, sorting, packaging and valorization unit for agricultural products. As for the third project, it concerns the production of olives in hyper-intensive systems in different regions of the country. The last project, finally, concerns the establishment of an olive crushing unit in order to produce extra virgin olive oil.
Remember that the AAAID, of which Morocco is a member country, is a financially autonomous Pan-Arab Institution with the main objective of strengthening food security in the Arab world.
